Cookies
Short version: we use analytics cookies only if you accept them. Until you choose, the only cookie is the one that remembers your choice.

Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and nothing is sent to Google unless you accept. You can change your mind at any time.
Cookies on this website
- cookie_consent (ours; strictly necessary): remembers your choice, so we do not ask on every page. It lasts 6 months. It needs no consent, because the website cannot respect your choice without it.
- _ga (Google Analytics; only if you accept): a random identifier that lets us tell one visitor from another. It lasts up to 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> (Google Analytics; only if you accept): keeps track of a visit. It lasts up to 2 years.
No advertising cookies are used. Fonts and scripts are served from the site itself, apart from Google Analytics, which is loaded only after you accept.
What analytics tells us
If you accept, Google Analytics records the pages you view and the buttons you click (such as Start free trial), where you came from, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address), and your device and browser type. We use it to see what works and to improve this website, not for advertising. Google processes this information for us and may do so outside the UK; see our privacy policy. We keep it for 14 months.
The app
The Hourlify app, where you sign in, uses strictly necessary storage to work: a cookie that keeps you signed in, and browser storage for your session and preferences. These are essential to the service, so they do not need consent, and they are not used for advertising or tracking.
Changes
If we add other optional cookies we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
